What is SENSORY INTEGRATION?
Hate the feeling of wool? Simply can’t stand licorice? Does a co-worker’s tapping pencil drive you crazy? These are all examples of how some inability to integrate various senses affects us all! By starting very early in exposing your child to such a wide and diverse array of sensory input, you effectively enable them to integrate each to a greater capacity. This ability to comfortably assimilate and/or tune out input in their environment frees their minds for whatever task is at hand.

Is WeeZee open to ALL kids?
Absolutely! WeeZee is designed for all children. All of us, young and old, benefit from the techniques we use and equipment we have.
Would my child benefit from the services at WeeZee?
Each and every child in our community benefits from the methods used here at WeeZee. Our techniques forge strong and useful connections between vital parts of the brain by requiring it to multitask. When we immerse certain senses in focused input, we also form the ability to more efficiently integrate and utilize those senses. Specifically, senses that are craved become satisfied, senses avoided become tolerable, and your child becomes more functional as a result.

What age group do you serve?
WeeZee accepts children from 12 months to 12 years, though those under 4 must be accompanied by an adult. We do, however, offer several exciting programs and services for older siblings, so be sure to ask!
I understand that there are helpful services annexed to WeeZee… What kinds of services are there?
We understand that “It Takes a Village” to raise a strong, caring, happy and productive child. We also understand that to do so requires the care and input of many different sources and individuals. In an effort to streamline and simplify this process for our wonderful parents, we constantly work to incorporate these elements into our facility. Our Village houses only the best and most well qualified specialists in a number of applicable fields, from Recreational Therapists, to Daycare service.
How will you develop my child's skills?
WeeZee utilizes techniques, equipment and research from the field of sensory integration and combines them in a fun and exciting exploratory environment. Through use of our facility and participation in our activities, under the guidance of our Sensory Coaches, each member gains an amazing array of benefits. These benefits range from improved physical capability to enhanced self-confidence. We also see time and again, that in such a diverse exploratory environment both children, and parents learn something new about themselves. This increased self-awareness leads to even further and faster progress than thought possible.

Is the staff fully trained?
While WeeZee itself is not a clinical environment, we have selected each of our staff members based on an area of expertise. Each of these special skills adds to our array of services and each member’s WeeZee experience. We hire only the finest individuals with skills ranging from musical talent to athletic accomplishment and an applicable background in teaching, coaching or working with children. These select individuals then undergo our own rigorous training on our equipment and in our techniques before becoming Sensory Coaches. As time goes on, these Coaches are even further assessed and utilized in more specific ways as key strengths are seen in each.
Is there a place where parents can stay and watch their children?
WeeZee isn’t just an amazing place for kids, it’s designed with parents in mind too! Our Swing Bean café has plenty of healthy snacks and drinks, with bistro style seating, to satisfy any craving. Our Zen Den features an array of phenomenal massage chairs to relax in, with loaded iPads for your use. Rest assured as you can monitor all of our camera feeds throughout the facility using the iPads, so you can always keep an eye on the action. Grab a coffee, start up your iPad and relax as you listen to our Zen Den fountain trickle while we do the work.
Can I drop off my child?
We are set up to handle, and do expect a certain amount of drop off time based on membership and assessment. At our highest levels of membership, you’re allowed up to three hours of drop off at a time, or an unlimited number of times! Stop by to see and discuss our various levels of membership and how they affect this service.
Will my child be supervised at all times?
WeeZee has ensured that our staff-to-child ratio is 1:6 at any given time. If necessary, our volunteer sensory assistants are available to “shadow” any child in need of such support. You also have the option of hiring any individual sensory coach as part of our private lesson membership.
Will there be group sessions?
WeeZee offers, as part of everyday operation and through our excellent classes, many group opportunities. We realize that group play fosters such vital skills as teamwork, cooperation, leadership, patience and social awareness. As such, we ensure that group activities are frequent and accessible. Areas like our Groove Grove, Art Room, and Brain Games all lend themselves to group interaction. Through their use, and our help, your child will develop confidence in social situations.

Will my child be in group sessions or individual sessions?
Group versus individual play will depend on a number of factors at any given time. As we assess levels of required supervision for particular child, gym activity, and opportunities for group interaction the appropriate option will be selected. One way to ensure group activity is to enroll in one of our various classes.
What kind of activities will you do with my child?
All staff at WeeZee makes use of our amazing array of equipment to provide a diverse and engaging, sensory-enriched environment for our members. Activities in this environment range from training hand/eye coordination with our cutting-edge Makodo to stretching the mind in brain games. WeeZee blends elements of a children’s museum, an indoor playground, and a children’s learning center, providing almost limitless varieties of activities and classes.

Is there any way I can get involved with my child?
Certainly! The more, the merrier! Our open play area is an inclusive environment for all children and their families to enjoy. Additionally, WeeZee will be hosting family nights and monthly Speaker Bureaus on relative topics of interest for the parents. OR… join our Volunteer Corps as a "Sensory Assistant" and be there with your tike as you are helping another who requires close supervision.
If my child is two years old, is there anything that they can choke on?
WeeZee provides a safe environment for children. However, two-year-olds have been known to create a choking hazard where none previously existed, e.g., by biting off the end of a larger object. This is an excellent reason why children are fully supervised at WeeZee by Sensory Coaches at a ratio of 1:6.
What are your hours?
We are open seven days a week! Sunday through Thursday, 9am to 7pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am to 9pm. Certain event or holiday hours may affect our normal hours of operation, so be sure to check for announcements at reception or via email.
How much does it cost?
We offer a variety of membership options, each with varying levels of access and extras. We do have policies in place for cancellation and membership freeze. As all of the above does vary, along with options and pricing, with each level of membership, we ask that you come in to speak with a membership specialist. Make sure to take a tour of our wonderful facility while you’re here, you won’t believe your eyes.
